2024 in Review

In 2024, our main ambitions as a company were to launch highly requested features, strengthen relationships with our advisors, and help you achieve better outcomes for your clients. Here’s a quick look at some of the milestones that shaped the past 12 months...


Digital Onboarding - ImageDigital Onboarding

This year, we streamlined client onboarding to make it faster, simpler, and more intuitive. The integration of Move Money Authorizations (MMAs) into the Altruist Customer Agreement eliminated the need for drafting and requesting MMAs at the transfer level. Consolidating ACATs and Bank linking during account opening also became more seamless with manual options, reducing the back-and-forth for advisors and their clients.

Fixed Income - ImageDigital Fixed Income  

In partnership with Moment, we launched a fully integrated fixed income trading platform, bringing the $55 trillion U.S. bond market into the digital age. Advisors now enjoy access to aggregated liquidity, real-time analytics, and streamlined execution, all at competitive pricing. This innovation empowers advisors to provide predictable cash flows, tailored portfolios, and enhanced tax optimization for their clients.

Altruist Cash 

Altruist Cash introduced an industry-leading APY, solving the dilemma of low-yield custodial sweep accounts versus third-party options. This product ensures advisors have full visibility into client cash balances without sacrificing yield. With FDIC insurance up to $2 million in joint accounts and same-day transfers, Altruist Cash set a new standard for cash management in 2024.

TaxIQ 

The initial launch of TaxIQ offered RIAs automated tools like tax-loss harvesting and tax-sensitive rebalancing. Less than six months later, the product was bolstered with a daily tax-loss harvesting scan, enhanced reporting tools, and capital gains budgeting empowering advisors to deliver even better after-tax outcomes for clients.

Direct Indexing

This year, Altruist expanded its direct indexing offerings with new U.S. All-Cap, Mid-Cap, and Small-Cap models. These options allow advisors to provide clients with low-cost index exposure while enabling tax optimization through TaxIQ, included for free*. With investment minimums as low as $2,000, direct indexing on Altruist’s platform offers unmatched personalization and flexibility.

Global Navigation & Search 

Advisors now enjoy faster access to tools and information with our revamped navigation bar and global search functionality. The side navigation bar streamlines workflows, while global search offers quick insights into accounts, households, and recent activity—all aimed at reducing clicks and saving advisors time.

SSG - Image
SSG Conversion 

2024 marked the successful conversion of Shareholder Services Group (SSG) advisors to Altruist. The conversion involved hundreds of thousands of positions, tens of thousands of accounts, countless email communications, the development of over 50 new features, 30 webinars, and an in-person+virtual event with over 600 attendees.

Simply Better Pricing 

We redesigned our fee schedule to reflect Altruist’s values: simplicity, transparency, and accessibility. We eliminated over 50 line items, offered industry-leading pricing, and expanded no-transaction-fee options to over 8,900 mutual funds and 75 money market funds. Our pricing model ensures that RIAs can act in their clients’ best interests without worrying about hidden fees.

Phone support - Image
Phone Support 

We introduced phone support as a new way to connect with our team, joining our existing chat and email options. Advisors can now choose the support channel that works best for them, whether it’s resolving issues quickly over the phone, getting detailed guidance via email, or chatting in real time.
